Sitelinks give you the option to easily update and refresh seasonal and limited promotions or sales within your adverts without changing your advert text. With additional text your adverts will become larger, more alluring to searchers and showcase your range of services. The additional links, shown in blue not underlined, under each of the adverts above give an overview of the range of other services offered by the advertisers. By adding these deep links you are allowing the searcher to reach deep into your site from the search page without having first visited your site. Searchers can then go straight to their area of interest without any navigation through your site, shortening their click path and improving the user experience of your site and encouraging return visits.
Sitelinks can be changed often as you like so making them relevant for your current sales and online marketing efforts is easy.
Up to four Sitelinks will be shown at one time on qualifying adverts of up to ten variations the advertiser chooses. The links are only shown if Google believes the advert “qualifies” for them making it even more important to make you PPC adverts as high in quality as possible. If an advert is assessed by Google as being the “best” answer to the search query the links may be enhanced further by being spread over two lines.
The sitelinks which are available for organic search, on the sites Google chooses as relevant for the user, have always had the links and text chosen by Google with the option of blocking by the site owner. AdWords Sitelink Extensions however are written by the advertiser making them a valuable tool to showcase advertiser’s range of products/services.
SiteLink Extensions are a free service offered to Google AdWords users and are an opportunity not to be missed, you can be sure your competitors will already be looking at adding them if they haven’t already. Clicks to the extra links to your site are charged the same as for clicks to the advert they appear with.
