Network Hygiene launch their new business to revolutionise their industry, starting with a strong brand
New business, Network Hygiene is the brainchild of Ross Smith and Ian McKay who have brought commercial kitchen and duct cleaning into the 21st century; revolutionising the entire process helping time-pressured chefs to stay compliant. The service offering has been developed by caterers, for caterers.
Following a detailed specification phase, we designed a professional brand, style guidelines, stationery, an exhibition stand and websites. Key messaging and a strong brand was vital to clearly place Network Hygiene apart from other companies offering similar services. Read on to learn more about how the project progressed.
Ross Smith and Ian McKay are both passionate about hygiene in commercial kitchens and through their own experience, know that the companies that offer deep kitchen cleaning services often carry out substandard work which can leave the chef and catering managers open to closure from organisations such as Environmental Health.
Ian came to us slightly disillusioned with designers from previous experience, but our brand design work gave him the confidence he needed to partner with us. The Network Hygiene team were looking for an agency to create a new brand, marketing collateral, exhibition material and website to launch their new company.
Developing the brand
Network Hygiene needed a strong and recognisable brand to allow them to establish credibility in the market. We created a professional and identifiable brand which has been used on business cards, the website and on their stand at the recent Hotelympia exhibition, where the company launched its services to their market.
Discussions with the team at Network Hygiene helped to focus our designer’s ideas, from colour through to icon shape. The brand development process typically takes a few days from initial thoughts through to final outcome. A two-way iterative process always gives the best outcome.
Going to print
Ensuring a strong brand for the target audience to identify with was very important to Network Hygiene from the outset. With the company launch taking place at the prestigious Hotelympia show, business cards and exhibition stand banners needed to be designed and printed ready for use.
Business cards actually speak volumes; a strong design with clearly displayed information and a high quality finish (we opted for spot UV and matt laminate) demonstrates attention to detail which conveys credibility and professionalism. The business card outcome shows that Network Hygiene cares about how it is perceived by potential clients and reinforces expected service levels.
The brand will also follow on clothing, chemicals, van livery and stationery.
Network Hygiene were looking for a marketing agency to help them create a website and marketing specification for their unique approach to deep kitchen cleaning (and supporting services), with which they intend to change the industry for the better.
Working with the team at Network Hygiene we formulated a comprehensive specification for the website, ensuring a superior user interface and therefore an outstanding overall experience.
Kitchen cleans are not just organised by Chefs. The Network Hygiene audience is varied and the design arrived at needed to appeal to all customer profiles; Chefs, Catering Managers, Facilities Managers. Our design allows Network Hygiene to address each customer and reassure them that services offered will be applicable to them.
Chefs, Catering and Facilities Managers’ are all under time pressure and a deep kitchen clean is a nuisance. It can only happen when the kitchen isn’t in use and is often forgotten or ignored because it’s too painful to organise. The Network Hygiene vision is to make the process as painless as possible and through their new website, those that need to organise a deep kitchen clean can do so at their own convenience through the traditional on-site survey or with a comprehensive Self Survey form. The Chef or Facilities Manager can complete the form when convenient to them and receive a quotation within 24 hours. This new approach will speed up the process significantly – no waiting for an on-site survey!
We created a form system which allows the customer to request a quotation for all services required in a single sitting. Behind the scenes the forms go to the relevant parties where quotations can then be sent out.
Our bespoke Self Survey form allows visitors to itemise their kitchen equipment in order to receive a quotation unique to their kitchen set up. The clean will be booked upon acceptance of this quotation and a team of specialist cleaners will perform the clean, which will be surveyed independently following completion.
Knowing how busy their target audience is, it was imperative that the website was created to be fully responsive, to allow visitors to complete forms on any device with ease.
The first phase of work is now complete, with marketing and further administrative website functionality making up phase two.
