I would like to talk about how to improve your Google search results and what everyone is discussing this year, the use of Social Media for businesses.
Recent work
We have just launched a new website for RxSport, a customer who came to us 4 years ago when starting their business selling prescription designer sunglasses online. Their business has gone from strength to strength and now has over 4,000 products online and has seen a 400% growth in business over the last 3 years. They outgrew the solution we built for them in 2005 and we have just launched their new website and stock management system and congratulate them on their continuing success. You can view their new site here – www.rxsport.co.uk
Link Other Website’s to Yours to Improve Google Search Results
Creating links to your website from other websites is an effective way to improve your search ranking within Google. Remember, it is important that the websites that link to yours are relevant to the keywords you wish to be found for. The websites you may wish to seek out are ones that come up in Google when you search for keywords relevant to your business. Websites that have content related to your keywords and websites that contain a review or comment about your company will often link to your website when asked providing they are not a competitor. Are there any opportunities that you can request a link from?
Social Media for businesses – 300,000,000+ reasons to engage
Right now, your customers, prospects, business partners, members of the press and your employees are frequently logging into Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social online forums, blogs and online publications. Facebook for example currently has about 300,000,000 users and growth is significant.
You may have already taken the plunge, but still many businesses are sitting on the fence, unsure of what to make of this new medium, its benefits and pitfalls and are afraid to get started.
Social Media can certainly be of benefit to some business, if the conditions are right…
Here are some benefits of engagement:
Brands can be built and loyalty increased
Dialogue can be had with your customers
You can listen to and research customer opinion of your company products/solutions
Marketing of your business and awareness can be achieved
It can drive direct sales
Not all of the above benefits will be realised by only one social media engagement or by all businesses. Some businesses will have more obvious opportunities than others. Some of what is required is thinking laterally!
How to get started:
- Start by watching and contributing to other discussions to learn the ropes
- Develop a plan for what you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve it
- Make sure that your postings are useful and relevant to your audience
- Remember to market your postings. They will not gain a following without marketing
Kind regards
Nigel White
