ERMS (UK) Ltd launch new website and logo to improve brand awareness and assist with business growth ambitions

ERMS (UK) Ltd is a family run business providing fresh produce solutions for clients worldwide. After a recent business restructure it became vital for ERMS to improve their brand awareness and appeal to a diverse customer base;  to appeal to their existing audience and break into new markets.

As part of a detailed planning phase, five core business units were identified. Targeted messaging and careful consideration to website navigation, ensured a relevant and focused website was developed.

In order to arrive at the best possible outcome, we took ERMS  back to basics, talking through core values and ambitions. Understanding our clients and what is important to them is fundamental to allowing us to meet (and exceed) expectations.

It started with the logo

As with a lot of businesses ERMS started out in one product area (ice berg lettuce!) and expanded into new markets over time. As a result the logo had been added to over the years to try and incorporate these new markets. The first task was to redesign the logo to appeal to both existing and potential customers whilst reflecting company values. This is a challenge for any company that has historical ties and a fondness for its existing logo. With the new markets that ERMS is moving into, it was important that the logo was unbiased towards any particular market sector. This will allow ERMS the freedom to increase brand awareness without restricting potential business growth.

Planning is key

In order to ensure that the new website communicates the right message to the right audience we took an in-depth look into the 5 key business areas. The audience for each business area has different needs and  required a different message.  Careful consideration of the website architecture has ensured that  relevant information is quickly accessible. Part of the planning included a site map and wire frame phase (page layouts) so that everyone could see how the website navigation would work. Planning in this way also supports the content creation process; it’s easy to see what content needs to be written to ensure that  the needs of the audience in each market sector is met.

Strong visual impact

ERMS  were looking for a highly visual website to engage with their audience and encourage contact. Although a B2B business, they wanted to inform and excite their audience. Careful selection of great photography has allowed a highly visual and mouthwatering outcome!

Allowing the website to grow

As the business is growing and adding new services to its portfolio all the time, the website was created to include a content management system allowing the team at ERMS to add new information and images as they require.
